Keep it simple, stupid
I’ve been designing a website since I pretty much got home, it’s for a Spanish Villa owned by a friend of mine’s father. It’s taken me ages just because I’m so unfamiliar with the subject matter, even so much as picking a colour scheme has taken far too long. I think I am finally getting there, I have spent tonight conjuring up some concept images to offer to the client for the layout etc and am quite please with how it is looking. I have used this photoset on flickr which has been endlessly helpful.
I went to see ‘A Wilhelm Scream‘ last night in Birmingham, they were nothing short of incredible but for some stupid reason I decided not to take my camera and the club was empty and I had a perfect view the whole night. Never mind, I think I enjoy bands far less when I have to think about taking photos of them. I also managed to pick up and awesome sticker for my PC and the digipack edition of their album ‘Ruiner’ for barely any money.

big pile of stones
Drove up to the Stiperstones today, which is just a big pile of stones (well, a few big piles of stones). It was really good, the weather was great and the photos came out quite well. Then we went back to donna’s and helped her finish decorating her room. I am absolutely exhausted, falling asleep while typing this…

Went into town today early and took some photos of the floods. It’s becoming less of a big thing here seeing as Shrewsbury seems to flood all the time. I still find it really interesting, although my photos were somewhat uninspired.
Went back to Rich’s for lunch, had scrambled eggs and watched ‘Hard Core Logo’, what a movie. I came home around 3 and realised I had got my wires crossed and wasn’t seeing Donna tonight as she is working and I was sposed to see her last night. As a result I’m by myself tonight which isn’t too great but I guess its my own goddamn fault.
Took some photos of myself when I got home, which I definately don’t do very often, it was kinda fun.

Week End
Well it’s Friday. Just worked through the first full week after being back from the Christmas break and it’s been so busy its a joke. Everyone knows my name now and seeing as I’m the only IT guy in a company of 70+ people I’m in demand. I really don’t mind though, the days go so fast and it feels like I’m actually helping people out which makes me feel warm and fuzzy.
Shrewsbury is flooded to all hell again, I’m going to rise early tomorrow and go on a photographic expedition, although knowing my luck it will be raining/snowing/stormy or all the floods will have miraculously disappeared. Also going to get a haircut, which I’m quite nervous about seeing as the last few times have been disastrous.
Other plans for the weekend involved walking, reading and probably a bit of web design. I bought some fingerless gloves from Millets today so I can keep gloves on and use my camera which will no doubt be brilliant in Iceland so I’ll go somewhere cold and uncomfortable on Sunday and see how they fare.
I also got my iPod back from Phil’s in Birmingham, so no more Terry Wogan for me in the mornings and as a bonus I found a couple of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s albums on my work PC obviously left there by an ex-employee so I’ve liberated them. Lots to listen to over my busy weekend.

I just did the stupidest thing.
3 years of a degree in Computer Science and I’m still an idiot. I opened an .exe from a website I didn’t trust and surprise surprise it was a big fat virus. I’ve just spent the last hour flushing my system.
Did give me a chance to give Tom McRae’s self titled album a listen though, very impressive, cheers Rich.

New beginnings
I’ve been sat here for a bit uninstalling some crap from my computer, trying to work out why iTunes crashes whenever I try to close it (I’m really going off iTunes now, it’s turned into a real bloated piece of shit. Anyone else feel like that?). Anyway so I’m sat here idling flicking through the flickr explore page (you can find me wasting away my spare time here most days) and I stumble across two amazing photo pages in the same refresh (usually I generally hate everything I see).
Anyway first is ‘dirty feet‘ whose photos are truly gorgeous. They have a real clarity to them that I find immensly inspiring. Secondly is ‘illusion.den‘ with some truly organic analogue photography. It’s been a while since I’ve stumbled across photography of such quality on flickr and it really makes me want to push my photography (which has really been lacking somewhat of late) even further.
I really haven’t listened to any music this week seeing as my iPod is still in Birmingham (where I left it…) but I’ve just put on ‘Emergency and I’ by the Dismemberment Plan and I forgot how much I love this album.
I’ve had a shit new year so far to be fair, but that’s probably 90% my own fault, I’ve been rather passive about, well, everything. Two days left till the weekend, gonna get a haircut, take a butt load of photos and enjoy myself. Oh and keep day-dreaming about that iPhone.

I think I’m a little excited

I’m gonna start saving now.

Maybe I’ll convince work it’s an essential item?

Came back earlier today from spending the evening in Swansea with Gemma, Steve, Donna and Stacy. Had a great time, lots of drinks, food and CSI the board game. It was also the first time I’ve actually driven somewhere besides to and from work/Donna’s/band practice. I clocked up over 200 miles in two days, the car drove fine and I think I did okay, it’s amazing how much you learn when you are driving places you have never been before.
Tomorrow we are off to Birmingham to see in the new year with Phil and Stacy in a civilised manner, probably in a warm living room with a sofa and some wine. I’m not the biggest new year’s person so it sounds absolutely perfect. I hope everyone else has a great new year.
